For All You Sour Patch Kids on Valentine's Day
Our annual day of love is finally here!
I'm a fan of today, not because I expect to be showered with gifts, but because I have a legitimate excuse to listen to sappy love songs all day and spend money on things I don't really need because EVERYONE is having a sale.
Today also means I get to be thoroughly entertained as I troll various forms of social media. There are always two types of people on Valentine's Day: the sour, bitter ones who despise today because they're too preoccupied with their loneliness, and the sugar sweet ones who are blissed out on all the love they're receiving.
Let's talk about you sour apple bitter boogers :) ... Today isn't about you. All sad because no one is showering you with chocolate you won't eat, overpriced dinners, or pink/red helium balloons? Get over it, it's ONE day that honestly shouldn't be about what you're expecting to receive from others. Give your love and appreciation to someone else for a change. It's not Singles Awareness Day, and you don't have the right to shanghai a holiday because you don't want to leave your own pity party. It's not that you "don't believe in Valentine's Day" either, because you'd instantly become one of the sugar sweets if you were to suddenly be munching while admiring your Edible Arrangement. You, my tart friends, are Sour Patch Kids; first you're sour, then you're sweet. My point is this: don't be a sour apple bitter booger who swears the commercialism of this lovely day is beneath you. You aren't fooling anyone.
For all of you sugar sweet people feeling the love today, enjoy! Listen to some sappy, but great love songs, eat some candy, and maybe even dance around!
