Music Mondays: Lianne La Havas

Rich and buttery.  This was the hilarious, yet slightly disturbing phrase that a fellow concert goer used to describe one of my now favorite artists.  British singer Lianne La Havas is sort of a hidden gem.  If you have more of an eclectic taste in music, her soulful, folk-reminiscent melodies, genuine musical talent, and lyrical prowess are sure to fill your spirit with joy and happiness.

I first discovered La Havas while listening to a random Spotify playlist.  I instantly knew that she would become a favorite of mine.  "No Room for Doubt" was perfect. Don't worry, if you're skeptical, have a listen.

Right after hearing this song, I immediately searched her discography.  Is Your Love Big Enough? played on repeat for days in my dorm room.  It was that good.  She reminds me so much of Corinne Bailey Rae, which makes me love her music even more.

Blood, released in 2015, is even better than her debut album.  I'm hoping her fan base continues to grow.  Perhaps Shonda Rhimes will feature one or two of her songs on Grey's Anatomy, that always seems to propel artists into mainstream music.

Regardless of any primetime TV show features, take some time to check her out! She's absolutely worth it!
