Kid 1: Why can’t we say “on fleek” in your room?
Me: Fleek is not a word, and the phrase itself makes absolutely no sense. I’m trying to correct your writing, and since you guys write the same way that you speak, I’m banning certain phrases.
Kid 1: Yeah, it’s actually on fleet and not fleek. We just don’t say it right.
Me: That doesn’t make sense either.
Kid 2: You stupid! A fleet is like a fleet of birds.
Me: No sweetie, you mean flock. A flock of birds.
Kid 2: Oh.
Kid 1: Now who’s stupid?!
